Fashion and style is all about being yourself; well for the most part. While some people struggle to express individuality within their own style, Crystal Bowersox showed up at the 9th season of American Idol showcasing quite the contrary. Completely comfortable with herself and her style, which was bohemian rocker, the challenge for Bowersox was to still stay true to herself while evolving for television. American Idol stylist, Soyon An recalls, “she was like, ‘I’m not going to change for the show, everyone thinks I’m going to get an image makeover or whatever, but I’m not changing for the show.”

Three months later and rounding out the top three finalist, Crystal’s style has completely evolved. As the season progressed we have seen Crystal in vests, jackets, denim, gowns, suits, and everything else in between. “Maybe this is your little moment of coming out of the fashion closet and letting people see the real Crystal,” An shared with Bowersox. Crystal “really wants to wear that dress and heels sometimes,” An said. As we are winding down to the final episodes of this seasons competition, there is more than enough time for Crystal Bowersox to really enhance the person she already was with Soyon An’s help in nurture her sense of style. The Ohio native is willing to step into her own budding star power and truly shine.
