Brad & Angelina Design For Charity

Brad Pitt ad Angelina Jolie are expanding the scope of their empire to include jewelry design. The duo has created a capsule collection of gold jewelry and silver accessories to be released via Asprey stores in New York, London, Beverly Hills, Tokyo and Dubai. This is no selfish couple and they are not the only ones who will benefit from the project.

For the sake of fashion, the snake will gain beauty and prestige through this collection. Jolie thinks of the reptile as a talisman and protector of her family since receiving  a snake shaped ring while she was pregnant with their daughter Shiloh, reports WWD. With that, her collection is named The Protector, complete with silver baby gifts including the spoon, an eggcup, tooth box and picture frame, gold and micropavé diamond pendants, bracelets and rings, as well as diamond, black diamond and emerald pavé rings; bracelets; earrings, men’s cuff links, and dress studs, all of which are adorned with snakes.

The greater good will also benefit from this project. Prices start at $525 and all net proceeds from sales will go to Education Partnership for Children of Conflict, a charity co-founded by Jolie in 2006 that raises awareness and funds to educate child victims of war, conflict and natural disasters. “These are the children who most need a safe place to learn, a place to heal, a place to learn reconciliation, a place to build a better future and a place — to just be children. Yet the education for these children is often forgotten. Tens of millions of children and adolescents in conflict are not in school,” Jolie wrote in an e-mail.

While this ploy will assist Asprey as they are streamlining, rebuilding and refining the company under new chairman John Rigas and chief executive officer Robert Procop, it sounds like Brad and Angelina may have found a great way to spread the work and gain support. Wonder who her next partners will be?! Either way, celebrity weight being thrown around for the sake of fashion and the greater good is always a good thing!
